Starting out.

I joined wix in 2019, with full intentions of blogging our trip through South East Asia. However I got caught up in living, completely being in the moment and falling hopelessly in love with the countries, their people, food, scenery etc that I did not write.

As a couple we did figure out how to travel to South East Asia and now other countries on a budget, come back home to Canada and continue (unknowingly) the minimalist lifestyle we had taken on. We figured out how to live on a comfortable budget while still having fun at home, so we could continue to travel and explore every winter.

My spouse and I sold all our assets back in 2019, I quit my job, packed our lives into a storage container and then went backpacking through SouthEast Asia. We went on the most amazing journey starting in Vietnam, going into Thailand, Laos and then when covid-19 hit we decided to stay in BaIi for 6 months. We lived in small villages with the locals, made friends, ate amazing food, swam in the ocean and drank. We kept in contact with family and close friends through FaceTime, the most common line we heard and still hear is “ it must be nice.”.

We are now on a new travel adventure and I can tell you it really is nice! We have adapted and made some major changes in our lives so we could continue to travel and live our best lives. What I will cover in this blog is how we went from living in a house to backpacking, travelling on a budget, planning for our full time move into our RV, tips and tricks to full time living in an RV and how we continue to live on our budgets at home and aboard.
