I have been hearing about how AMAZING smoked cream cheese is for a while now and honestly I have never had interest in making it until recently. I was looking for something easy and would take the least amount of effort to make to take to a friend's house. Normally I would make a Nacho Dip but I was also craving something new.
I got into a conversation the other week with a local man who I purchased pellets from. I have been looking for someone local to purchase our pellets from and with a wider selection as well. These pellets are Canadian made, they have a large range of flavours and his shop is on my way home from work, all around win. He started telling me about smoked cream cheese and how much his family and friends LOVE IT. He went on to say that he has friends who drop off blocks of cream cheese and ask him to smoke it for them whenever he smokes his own next.

After trying it myself, I see why smoked cream cheese is so popular. This warm, smooth, tasty treat is so easy to make and takes next to no time or effort to do. Sometimes it is nice to have something quick and easy to toss on and walk away, either as a snack for us or when friends pop by.
If you have not made smoked cream cheese yet, you are really missing out! It is that good.
Your List of Ingredients

1 Tbsp Paprika
1 Tbsp Taco Spice
1 Tbsp Seasoning Salt
1 Block of Lactose Free Cream Cheese
Your favourite chips or crackers

Prep time: 5 minutes
Smoker time: 1.5 hours
Pellets: Traeger Hickory Blend
Smoker Temp: 200C
Step 1: Let’s Get Started
Preheat your smoker to 200C. Take your cheese out of its wrapper, with a paring knife, score the cheese on both sides length and width wise.

I do a lot of scoring because as it heats up it separates and this makes it easier to break apart with your favourite chips or crackers.

Step 2: Cover it!
Once you have scored both sides of the cream cheese block, it is time to cover it in a light dusting of your spices and put it into its baking tin.

Make sure to cover all sides of the block, not just the top and bottom.

Step 3: Smoke
Take the baking tin and place it on your grill (uncovered) for 1.5 - 2 hours. When it is done, you will see all the score lines come through as the cheese separates a bit.
Step 4: Eat & Enjoy

After 1.5 hours check the cream cheese if it is starting to split then it is ready to come off, if not let it continue to smoke for another 30 minutes.
Grab your favourite chips or crackers and enjoy!

Smoked Cream Cheese
This quick and easy snack, is a great creamy treat to share with friends poolside this summer or as an appetiser with your favourite summer beverage. You can play around with different rubs and sauces too! I have been told that using a BBQ sauce at the end is delicious too!
Cheers!
